What is the maximum-width project that will be laminated?
USI offers roll laminators in 12", 18", 27", 40", 44" and 62" widths. These are the maximum roll widths. Narrower rolls of laminating film can be used on these laminators up to the maximum width. Simply align the top and bottom rolls directly over one anoWhen choosing a laminator, its maximum width should be equal to or exceed the maximum width of the items that you plan to laminate.

What is the maximum film thickness that will be used?
Laminating films vary by their thickness, which typically is measured in mils. For example, a 3 mil film is 3-thousandths of an inch thick. USI supplies laminating films ranging from 1.3 mils thick to 15 mils thick and even more. Roll laminators adhere laminating film to both sides of an item. While a roll laminator may have a maximum film thickness of 3 mils, for example, this means that the machine is capable of using 3 mil film on both the top and bottom sides of the item being laminated. If a maximum particular film thickness is necessary for your application, please refer to the column in the chart below labeled "Max Film Mils". These mil thicknesses are the maximum suggested for each machine. Of course, you are always able to laminate using lower film thickness on a specific machine than those shown below.

Do I need to mount and laminate?
Many customers have an interest to mount their laminates to a rigid board such as pouch board or foam board. These finished products are rigid and typically used with easels or or wall-mounted adhesives for signs, posters, and table top displays, This process is easiest and fastest when done in a single pass (or "in-line") using a mounting laminator. Refer to the column below labeled "Mounting Capability" to determine a specific roll laminator can mount. USI offers a full line of roll laminating film, foam core and other mounting boards for all your mounting needs.

What is the laminator's warranty?
