The VeloBind System

How to Bind using Velo Binding

These instructions are designed to provide step-by-step instructions for binding one or many books using 4-pin or 11-pin Velo binding strips.  Note:  Only a VeloBind binding machine can use Velo binding strips.  4-pin binding strips can be used with 11-pin punched paper or covers.

Individual book assembly:

  1. Start by gathering your pages and selecting binding covers and dividers (if necessary).  Select the appropriate number of covers (2 per book) and the necessary number of dividers if used. Note: Pre-punched paper is also available to streamline process.
  2. Determine which pin-length binding strip (1/2” or 1”) is best for the number of pages to be bound for each book.  Make sure to count the covers and any dividers in the total page count.  Make sure you have both pieces of the binding strip: pin side and back.
  3. Punch covers and place one on the pin-side strip. Make sure front cover is placed on strip first.
  4. Punch dividers and papers (if not already printed on pre-punched paper) and place on strip in sequential order. Working front to back.
  5. Slide back section of strip on pins.  Fold pins over tightly and “lock” in place. Note: VeloBind strips can be re-opened and books reworked easily, if necessary.
  6. Repeat for each subsequent book.
