How To Mount Using SuperStickª Pouch Laminating Film and Mount Board or Other Substrate SuperStickª Pouch Laminating Film :: Pouch or Roll Laminating Machine - Heated Roller
These instructions are designed for one-step mounting and laminating using SuperStickª pouch laminating film and a Heated Roller Mounting Pouch Laminator or a Heated Roller Roll Laminating/Mounting Machine. NOTE: For mounting using a heated roller roll laminator, laminating film must NOT be threaded.
- Start by carefully removing the SuperStickª pouch laminating film from the box. Bottom of pouch contains adhesive and will have opaque, rough surface.
- Gently lift laminate film and center image in pouch. Adhesive side should be down. Lay film back down over image.
- Next carefully remove mounting board from box. Remove protective liner, if applicable.
- Using a clean "sticky" roller, clean board of any dust particles. (Suggested product: Dust Cleaning Roller & Tacky Pad #7178)
- Place pouch with image inside on appropriately sized board or other substrate.
Note: If using heated roller roll laminator, unthread or remove any lamination film from machine before proceeding.
- Ensure laminator has reached appropriate temperature. If appropriate, rotate rollers to ensure even heating.
- Adjust roller or set nip pressure setting to thickness of the board being used (ex. 3/16", 1/4", 1/2", etc.)
Note: Some laminators have fixed pressure settings - follow recommendations in operations manual.
- Slowly insert pouch and board into roller opening. Ensure pouch film is centered and straight on board. A gentle push may be required to get board started between the rollers. Hold edges of pouch film and board tightly until rollers have grabbed. This will prevent film from shifting on board.
- Board will feed through the laminator and automatically exit the back of the laminating machine.
CAUTION: Board and film will be HOT!
- Allow board to cool completely on a flat surface to help prevent warping.
