How To Mount Using Heat-Activated Adhesive Board Heat-Activated Adhesive Board :: Mounting Pouch Laminating Machines - Heated Roller or Platen
These instructions are designed for mounting using heat-activated adhesive board with Mounting Pouch Laminators - Heated Roller or Platen.
Mount Only:
- Start by carefully removing the adhesive board from the box. Remove protective liner, if applicable.
- Using a clean "sticky" roller, clean the board of any dust particles. (Suggested product: Dust Cleaning Roller & Tacky Pad #7178)
- Center image to be mounted on board.
- For heated roller mounting pouch laminators, place cover sheet (included in box of adhesive board) over top of image/board. Make sure to cover board completely so no adhesive is exposed.
For platen mounting pouch laminators, place board and image in pouch carrier.
- Adjust roller or set nip pressure setting to thickness of the board being used (ex. 3/16", 1/4", 1/2", etc.) Make sure opening is wider than thickness of board so when inserting board cover sheet does not wrinkle and can be used again.
Note: Some laminators have fixed pressure settings - follow recommendations in operations manual.
- Ensure machine is preheated and has reached recommended or preset temperature setting.
- Slowly insert board into roller opening. Insure board, image and cover sheet are centered and straight. A gentle push may be required to get board started between the rollers. Hold board, image and sheet in place as enters rollers to prevent any shifting placement. If using carrier, pinch end of carrier to prevent board and image from slipping out of carrier.
- Board will feed through the laminator and automatically exit the back of the laminating machine.
CAUTION: Board will be HOT!
- Allow board to cool completely on a flat surface to help prevent warping.
Mount & Laminate: In order to mount and laminate in one step with a pouch laminator, it is recommended that pouch board be used. See How to Mount using Pouch Board - Mounting Pouch Laminating Machines - Heated Roller OR How to Mount using Pouch Board - Mounting Pouch Laminating Machines - Platen
