HOW TO MOUNT USING FOAM-CORE POUCH BOARD

How To Mount Using Foam-Core Pouch Board
Pouch Board : Roll Laminating Machines - Heated Roller OR Pouch Laminating Machine - Heated Roller

These instructions are designed for mounting using foam core pouch board with either Heated Roller Roll Laminating/Mounting Machines  OR  Heated Roller Mounting Pouch Laminators.

  1. Start by carefully removing the pouch board from the box. Remove protective liner, if applicable.
  2. Using a clean "sticky" roller, gently lift the laminate film and clean the board and film from dust particles. (Suggested product: Dust Cleaning Roller & Tacky Pad #7178)
  3. Center image on board and lay film back over top.
  4. Adjust roller or set nip pressure setting to thickness of the board being used (ex. 3/16", 1/4", 1/2", etc.)
Note: Some laminators have fixed pressure settings - follow recommendations in operations manual.
  5. Ensure machine is preheated and has reached recommended or preset temperature setting.
  6. Rotate rollers to ensure even heating across full roller surface for optimal mounting results.
  7. Slowly insert pouch board into roller opening. Insure pouch board is centered and straight. A gentle push may be required to get board started between the rollers. Hold edges of pouch board and film until it has engaged in laminator rollers.
TIP: Pinch and pull laminate tight against the end of board. Pulling laminate film taught provides a wrinkle-free result.
  8. Pouch board will feed through the laminator and automatically exit the back of the laminating machine.
CAUTION: Pouch board will be HOT!
  9. Allow board/laminate to cool completely on a flat surface to help prevent warping.
  10. If any dirt or adhesive is found on the surface of the board, it can be removed by dampening a lint free cloth with ISO Propyl Alcohol (IPA) and wiping the surface clean.
NOTE: Always use care when using IPA as it is very flammable! Flash point of IPA is 11C (51.8F); self-ignition temperature is 400C (752F).

How To Mount Using Foam-Core Pouch Board
Pouch Board :: Mounting Pouch Laminating Machines - Platen

These instructions are designed for mounting using foam core pouch board with Platen style Mounting Pouch Laminators.

  4. Place pouch board with image inside appropriately-sized pouch board carrier. The carrier prevents adhesive from squeezing out from between the laminate film and board and getting on the laminator rollers.
  5. Slowly insert pouch board carrier into roller opening. Check operator's manual to see if laminate surface should be inserted into machine facing up or down for optimal results. Insure pouch board is centered and straight within carrier. A gentle push may be required to get board started between the rollers. Hold edges of pouch board carrier tightly until board has been grabbed by rollers. This will prevent pouch board from slipping out of carrier.
  6. Pouch board and carrier will feed through the laminator and automatically exit the back of the laminating machine.
CAUTION: Pouch board will be HOT!
  7. Allow board/laminate to cool completely on a flat surface to help prevent warping.
