HOW TO MANUALLY MOUNT USING FOAM MOUNTING BOARD (NO MACHINE)

How To Mount Using Foam Mounting Board

Foam Mounting Board :: Manual Mount (No Machine)

These instructions are designed for manually mounting using foam core mounting board (or other substrate without adhesive). This form of mounting is done by using a spray adhesive spray adhesive without the use of a laminating machine.

  1. Start by carefully removing the mount board from the box. Remove protective liner, if applicable.
  2. Using a clean "sticky" roller, clean board of any dust particles. (Suggested product: Dust Cleaning Roller & Tacky Pad #7178)
  3. Place mounting board (or other substrate) on a flat surface.
  4. Carefully spray adhesive evenly over back of print. Do not spray the adhesive directly onto the mount board, adhesive should only be applied to the artwork.  Hold the can 6 to 8 inches from the back of the artwork and begin spraying.  Start with the edges first, then up and down, then left to right to create a grid pattern. Spray lightly; do not over saturate the sheet. Allow at least 5 to 10 minutes of open time for the solvent to evaporate.
  5. Align print to be mounted into desired position on top of mounting board. Starting at one edge, gently press the print onto the surface of the mount board while smoothing out any air bubbles.
  6. Gradually smooth print down board with soft cloth, roller or squeegee removing any air bubbles and wrinkles until print is completely mounted.
  7. Allow spray adhesive time to dry and bond completely. For best results, it is recommended that mounted print be placed under even pressure until completely dry.
